Better Chocolate Strawberry Recipe

Dark Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

As if you needed another reason to love chocolate we have a great one- heart health! Among many nutrients, raw cacao contains magnesium which relaxes blood vessels and helps lower blood pressure; and flavonoids, antioxidants that can reduce inflammation, improve blood flow and help prevent blood clots.
Strawberries also contain flavonoids called anthocyanins that lower blood pressure and LDL, and make blood vessels more elastic plus strawberries are a decent source of fiber! Who says treats can't be good for you AND deliciously doable?

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Organic strawberries rinsed and pat dry
  • 1 Cup Dark chocolate chips >70% cacao
  • 1 tsp Coconut oil

Instructions
 

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil together until melted, stir to combine then remove from heat.
  • Grab a strawberry by the stem and dip the strawberry in, coating all around the berry then lift and gently set on the parchment paper. Repeat with all the berries.
  • Transfer the baking sheet to your fridge so the chocolate can cool and harden. Enjoy!

Tip:
  • Strawberries need to be dry so the chocolate sticks. 
  •  If you have left over chocolate, spread it in a pool on parchment paper, top with nuts and seeds then refrigerate for some delicious homemade bark!
