Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium beet cooked, skin removed, and cooled
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries
  • 1 handful fresh spinach
  • 2 Tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 serving vanilla protein powder
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup ice

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

Tip: Be sure to use fresh beets for the best flavor and to get the most nutritional value. To cook beets, place the beets in a medium saucepan, add enough water to cover, and bring to a boil. Cook on medium heat for 45–60 minutes, or until the skins can be rubbed off with your fingers. (To test one, sh it out of the pot with a pair of tongs and run it under cold water until it’s cool enough to handle.)
Pro Tip: You can easily make a batch of these for the week ahead by freezing the prepared ingredients (chop the beet beforehand and omit the milk and ice) and place in individual freezer containers. Just blend with your ice and milk when you're ready to enjoy!
