Chocolate Banana Popsicles Bites
Cool down deliciously with frozen treats
These chocolate banana popsicles bites are a great way to enjoy something sweet and refreshing. Easy to make – especially with a 6 year old to help (!) – in batches so everyone gets a treat they will love.
Are chocolate banana popsicle bites nutritious?
You bet – they pack potassium, fiber, magnesium, protein and theobromine – the “bliss” chemical. They also don’t add any extra sugar so you can use them as part of plan to promote better blood sugar.
When should you eat these treats?
Pre-workout or as an after lunch dessert if your lunch was light on carbs.
Chocolate Banana Popsicles
Ingredients
- 2 bananas green ripe bananas won't be sweet but it gives you prebiotic fiber
- 1 scoop whey protein grass-fed, plain or vanilla or chocolate
- 1/4 cup 100% cocoa
- 1/4 cup peanut or almond butter crunchy or plain
- 2 tbsp cashew milk (or cashew coconut)
Instructions
- With a wooden or silicone spoon blend all of the non-banana ingredients together in a bowl until fully mixed
- to make popsicles, cut the banana in 1/2 and put a popsicle stick or chopstick through each half gently until it is about 1/8 inch from the tipto make bites, cut each banana lengthwise and then into 3 horizontal sections (you will have 3 pairs of top and bottoms for each banana)
- use spoon to coat the banana popsicles with chocolate spread and place on wax paper on a plate or tray for the freezeruse spoon to put the chocolate spread on each bottom then add the top to make bites sandwiches place on plate or tray for the freezer
- freeze for at least 2 hours and enjoy immediately from the freezer
