Halvah Better Energy Balls

My dad’s favorite treat is a Middle Eastern favorite, Halvah, that packs in minerals (thanks sesame) and isn’t meant to be too sweet, so it can be a better breakfast or anytime of day pit stop. My Ashley Koff Approved (AKA) upgrade adds hemp seeds for protein, omegas, fiber, uses spices that help promote healthy inflammatory responses, and uses raw honey to give you additional immune supporting nutrients as well as a moderately sweet taste too.   • 1 1/2 cup hemp seeds
  • 1/4 cup hemp seeds
  • 1/3 cup garbanzo chickpea flour
  • 1/2 cup raw tahini
  • 1/3 cup raw organic honey
  • 1 tsp dried ginger
  • 1 tsp dried turmeric
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 oz filtered hot water

Directions

  • Blend hot water and honey. Add it to the blender first. Place all remaining ingredients – except the 1/4 cup hemp seeds – in blender. Blend. Remove mixture from blender and place in a bowl. On a cutting board or other non-stick surface, speed out 1/4 cup hemp seeds. Make dough into balls (about 2-3 Tbsp batter) and roll them in hemp seeds. Eat or store in the refrigerator in a closed container or freeze in wax paper and freezer safe container.
