Riverbirch Holistic Health
Inspired by her Quapaw and Cherokee heritage, Dr. Michelle Drains at an early age acquired a passion for Herbs and Natural Medicine. That passion led her to attend Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture, where she earned her B.S in Botany and Biological Sciences. Later to advance her course of study, she pursued her Master’s in Human Nutrition and her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at the University of Bridgeport in CT. During her clinical experience at UB she had the opportunity to complete specialty rotations within the fields of Homeopathy, Oncology, FirstLine Therapy®, Personalized Medicine and Physical Medicine. She also had the privilege of learning and working alongside some of the greatest minds in the field including Dr. Peter D’Adamo creator of the “Eat Right for Your Type™” and Geneotype Diets and Dr. Jody Noe noted ethnobotanist and expert in Native Medicine and specialist in Integrative Oncology.
Dr. Drains brings her unique set of strengths and talents and works wholeheartedly with you to clear the path to healing. She uses an eclectic array of therapies focusing heavily on the foundations of health – diet, exercise, hydration, sleep, toxicity/detoxification, and healthy gut microbiome. As a clinician she has a special focus on helping those with Weight Management, Cardiometabolic issues, Digestive disorders, and hormonal balance. Dr Drains also provides wellness for dancers and performers. She prefers using a non-pharmacological approach, including Herbal Medicine, Holistic Nutrition, homeopathy, needleless acupuncture, and nutrigenomics. Dr. Drains is dedicated to creating long-lasting connections with her clients and consistently guides them on their journey to optimal health --- empowering them with knowledge and skills, so that they can make healthy choices, and maintain their health, both now and in the future.
